Comments on PLDC 2011
I was impressed by the quality of presenters and the enthusiastic turnout. Overall I had a great time and met some wonderful people. I hope that I get a chance to speak at the next PLDC.

I was delighted to be introduced to a broad range of perspectives on light and lighting and I felt especially gratifi ed to be among colleagues who were pursuing the deeper issues of how light affects us at what level, and what light can mean. Technology and product have an important role to play in advancing the luminous experience, but an understanding of light and lighting as we confront issues in the new world of “lean urbanism” is also critical. I look forward to more such discussions at the next event.

The PLDC 2011 was an exciting conference with lighting experts from around the world. Different topics from technical solutions to the infl uence of light on health were presented and discussed. I was overwhelmed by the variety and depth of the papers. It is hard to make a good selection from all the interesting papers and I had to miss some really interesting lectures. As an architect I made some good connections to the industry and met some exciting lighting designers for future projects. Also I learned a lot about state-of-theart technology and future developments.
